Sheriff reminds community to watch out for the elderly

With the recent extreme cold temperatures, Carroll County Sheriff Tony Burns has offered this public service announcement.

"Keeping track of our own daily lives can be difficult to say the least," said Burns. "But with the extreme colder temperatures we have been experiencing lately, we all need to be reminded of our neighbors and helping them during this time."

"If you know of an elderly individual that lives in your area, take a couple of minutes of your day and stop by and check on them or call them on the telephone," he continued. "If you can not make contact with that individual and possibly know family members in the area, contact them and see if they have heard or seen anything out of them."

We all need to be mindful of others around us from time to time and this would be a good way to offer a helping hand while we are experiencing these harsh temperatures.
