Germond files for city council
his candidacy for Delphi City Council Feb. 2. A resident of Delphi since 1990, G e r m o n d lives at 414 W. Front St. and is seeking the District 1 Dickman. Dickman is not seeking the seat in the November election. Germond is a graduate of Leadership Carroll County. He said he believes running for city council is an ideal way to act on what he learned during the program. "I have always thought that government, whether local, state or national is a way to serve others," Germond said to support his ideal. Germond graduated from the Christian Liberty Academy and has owned and operated the professional landscaping business, Satisfaction Lawns, since 1995. He has been a private pilot since age 17, is instrument rated and continues to work toward a commercial license and a multi-engine rating. He is the vice president of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter #256 serving the local area. Germond serves as a Delphi Forestry Commission Board member. Donnelly appointed to subcommittees Congressman Joe Donnelly was named recently to the Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity and the Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises of the House Financial Services Committee. He was also named to the Veterans' Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity.
The Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises is responsible for legislation and programs related to Wall Street, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the insurance industry, generally, except for healthcare. The Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity has jurisdiction over the education, training, housing and employment of veterans, including the GI bill. | ||||||
