DCHS swim teams look to sectional

The DCHS girls swim team lost to Logansport 111-71 and to Lewis Cass 108-69, ending their season at 5 wins, 10 losses.

The boys team dropped a close meet to Logansport, 95-90, but bounced back to beat Cass 97-83.

Against Logansport, Shannon Kremer won and broke school records in both the 200 IM and 100 Free with times of 2:20.13 and :56.58, respectively. Kremer teamed with Mara Burton, Keltie Lake and Ashlee Buchanon to win the 200 Free Relay. Burton also won the 50 Free and Arielle Brosman won the 100 Breaststroke.

Against Lewis Cass, Kremer was a quadruple winner while breaking the 100 Backstroke record with a time of 1:06.43. The 200 Medley Relay team of Lake, Brosman, Kremer and Burton placed first, along with the 200 Free Relay team of Kremer, Buchanon, Lake and Burton. Brosman also won the 100 Breaststroke.

The girls' sectional preliminaries at Jeff are Thursday at 5:30 p.m., with the finals on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Against Logansport, Kyle Price and Andrew Burton were triple winners and Andrew Flora and Jared Kelley were double winners. Against Cass, Price was a quadruple winner, Burton was a triple winner, and Nick Force, Matt Keen and Flora were double winners.
