Donnelly meets with county farmers

U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly met recently with Carroll County farmers at the farm of Blaine Brubaker to discuss agricultural issues facing the needs of Indiana farmers.

"This meeting gave me the opportunity to hear directly from farmers what we need to accomplish with the next farm bill," Donnelly said. "We discussed everything from the amount of paperwork required under the current farm bill to the future of crop insurance. I hope to continue these discussions as we move forward with the work of the Agriculture Committee."

Donnelly was appointed to the House Committee on Agriculture and the Subcommittee on Poultry, Livestock and Dairy. The Agriculture Committee has jurisdiction over renewable energy, reauthorizing the Farm Bill, and disaster assistance amongst many other issues facing rural America.
