Virgil D. Pitzer

Services for Virgil Dean Pitzer, 91, of K o k o m o , were held Saturday at Baker Funeral Home, Flora. Pastor Larry DeVos officiated and burial was at Ball Hill Cemetery, Cutler.

He died at 2:20 p.m. Wed., Jan. 24, 2007, at Manor Care Healthcare, Kokomo.

Born July 6, 1915, in Cutler, he was the son of James Albert and Emma Belle Foster Pitzer. He married Georgia Jean Mitchell in Logansport on July 3, 1964. She preceded him in death on April 8, 1989.

Mr. Pitzer moved to Kokomo in 1985 after residing in Flora, Logansport and Florida.

He retired in 1977 from Brim Concrete in Flora.

He was a member of Flora Masonic Lodge #605, Logansport Italian Club, Logansport Eagles Lodge#323, the Loyal Order of the Moose #179, and a life member of Logansport Elks Lodge #66. He was also a member of Teamster Local #543 until 1982.

Surviving are a daughter, Judith Ann Johnson of Russiaville; a grandson, Jeffrey Martin of Russiaville; a great-grandson, Nathan Edward Martin of Kokomo; a sister, Frances Craig of Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers and a grandson.
