Moving…close to home
Council member Hampton explains
By Debbie Lowe

Hampton
Delphi City Council member John H a m p t o n would like for residents in his district to understand that just because he put his house, across from Delphi Community High School, for sale last week, he is not leaving the area.

"I'm not moving from the district, whether it be temporary or long-term," Hampton said in a Jan. 27 Comet interview. "When I buy another house, it will be in my district."

Hampton listed his house for sale Jan. 24 and a sign was put in the front yard Jan. 25. He explained the family, wife Enice and children, Grace and Dean, moved into the house three to four years ago with the goal of updating the property and then selling it.

"I'm just ready to move on to the next project," Hampton explained. "I have no plan and no desire to move out of the district."

Hampton said if the house sells before he finds another to purchase in the district, the family will reside temporarily with family members on Prince William Rd.
