Crop production and residue management workshop is offered

A workshop will be held on Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds, located on Teal Road in Lafayette. The workshop, with a focus on lo-till, is being offered to land users free of charge.

Pre-registration is required by calling the local Soil & Water Conservation District office or emailing the information to swcdcc@ffni.com by Feb. 2. Space is limited to 150 and that includes lunch and materials.

The day will include guest speakers on "Corn After Corn" no till and new no till trends. Afternoon concurrent sessions will include planter set up, vertical tillage, guided technology, and no till and manure applications.

This workshop has been approved for Pesticide Applicator Re-Certification credits. Certified Crop Advisor Continuing Education Units have been requested for the day to include 4 hours of Soil and Water. The program is presented by the Greater Wabash River RC&D, Purdue Extension, NRCS, and Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Howard, and Tippecanoe Co. SWCDs and funded in part by a Clean Water Indiana Grant.
