Candidates are lining up!

Cities and towns will hold elections in 2007 and candidates began filing Jan. 2. They may continue to file until Aug. 1. Contested town races will be decided in convention, not in a primary election. Convention picks will run in the November general election.

Candidates filed to run as of Jan. 18 are:

+ Burlington Town Council - Joseph L. Armstrong, Teddy A. Huffer and Stanley K. Moore, all of Burlington; and

+ Burlington town wjudge - John C. Adams of Bringhurst.

All Burlington candidates are running on the Progressive Party ticket.

Incumbent Flora Clerk-Treasurer Joretta L. Tinsman (R), of Flora, filed candidacy for the same office.

Candidates for city offices will file from Jan. 24 until noon Feb. 23. Contested races will be decided in the May primary election.
