Hampton appointed to APC
By Debbie Lowe

Hampton
Delphi Mayor Lee Hoard appointed council member John Hampton to represent the city on the Carroll County Area Plan Commission. Hoard made the formal appointment in a letter to zoning administrator Dale Huffer dated Jan. 10. Delphi has been without representation on APC since council member Carol Dickman resigned those duties late last fall.

Hoard stated in the letter, "The City of Delphi is very dedicated in seeing that proper land usage and planning is utilized during the anticipation and construction of the new Hoosier H e a r t l a n d project and the development of the new land use plan."

"John possesses the skills, knowledge and abilities to work with APC on the comprehensive land use plan with a positive attitude," Hoard said.

Hampton said Tuesday that he has acquired valuable experience as the manager of utilities operation and distribution at Purdue University, which will enhance his participation on the planning commission. He has been at Purdue since 1999. "There are positive things can contribute to APC," Hampton said. "I have experience that helps me understand what makes sense with placement in the future."

Hampton said he believes it is necessary for Delphi to be well represented in zoning and planning issues when looking toward the future of Carroll County.
