10 YEARS AGO
A total of twenty-four business and residential burglaries were solved and several items and cash were recovered, following the apprehension of seven juvenile suspects by the Delphi Police Department. Additional crimes committed in the county are also being resolved through the investigation.
Over the past 45 days, Delphi and surrounding area have had sporadic burglary activity. Both businesses and residences were victims of mainly late night, weekend entries. As a result of information gained by the department, the juveniles were questioned and the burglaries resolved. The juveniles ranged in age from 10 to 17, with one 19-year old involved. Most juveniles were age 15.

Through the combined effort of United Fund volunteers and the community support, Carroll County United Fund has surpassed its goal of $27,525.
The amount collected to date is $29,252.
Blitzed seems the only term left in the dictionary to describe the additional 20-inch snowfall which buried the county beginning late on Saturday evening and continuing throughout the day on Sunday adding the fourth straight weekend of inclimate weather to Indiana's record books.
Mayor Wayne Van Sickle declared the city of Delphi a snow emergency until road crews cleared the streets. A tired Chuck Everett, town utility manager, reported to the Flora town board that the streets were back in great shape by Monday evening.

The service station owned by Fred and Martin Anderson, at Burlington, has been sold to Raymond Smoker and son, of Burlington.

The Burlington Junior class has selected the play "Apple Blossom Time," to be given in the near future.
Mrs. E.C. Wells of South Delphi, last Thursday picked her fourth bunch of sweet scented violets in a bed on the south side of her house, for this month. Many people of Delphi report aponicas in bloom, and forsythia branched cut have blossomed in the house. In instances where water plants were left in pools in Delphi yards the plants are sending up tiny green shoots indicating that they are not frozen as has been their custom in former winters.
100 YEARS AGO
The post office department has notified Postmaster Barnard at Delphi that route No. 2 out of Logansport, which runs over 9 miles on Carroll county, would be discontinued unless the county commissioners put the road in good repair at once. The same notification was sent to the postmaster at Logansport.
Three miles of the route is over Cass county and their officials agreed to repair it.
