Yes, absolutely they should be paid, at least a bonus of some kind at the end of the year. These people are giving up their time from their families, and sometimes from their jobs to be volunteers for the community, and without their help and dedication, the county would have to hire in people that would receive pay. If you think about volunteer firemen, that is a very dangerous job. They are the only ones who are courageous enough to take the risk of possibly taking their own lives to save someone else's. Don't you think they should be compensated for their hard work and dedication to the community? I do.
