Lester M. Yost

Services for Lester M. Yost, 88, of L a f a y e t t e , were held Sunday at Cree Funeral Home in C a m d e n . Pastor Paul Marcellino officiated. Burial was at Wise Cemetery, west of Camden.

He died at 10 a.m. Jan. 10, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Lafayette.

Born Feb. 28, 1918, in Camden, he was the son of Silas and Mary Miller Yost. He graduated from Camden High School in 1936.

In 1939 in Rossville, he married Georgia Elizabeth Austin, who preceded him in death on May 16, 1977. He was married on Jan. 3, 1981, in Battle Ground to Marjorie Thiess Connelly, who survives.

He lived most of his life in Carroll County, within a mile of his birthplace near Camden. He farmed the home place until 1992, when he moved to Lafayette.

For many years he enjoyed his part-time employment as a driver, and camaraderie with his friends at Yerkes Trucking in Camden.

He was a member of Camden First Baptist Church.

Surviving with his beloved wife of 26 years are six daughters, Aurelia Yost Richardson (husband: Dick) of Indianapolis, Clarice Yost Monson (husband: Jim) of Proberta, Calif., Constance Connelly Fluke (husband: Bill) of Estero, Fla., Sharon Connelly Buck (husband: Jack) of Delphi, Coleen Connelly Minglin (husband: Bob) of Kokomo, and Karen Connelly Vest (husband: Alan) of Muncie; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgranddaughter.
