Probation visit nets mobile methamphetamine lab A routine visit to her probation officer ended up costing a Flora woman a stay at the Carroll County Jail last Friday evening. The Carroll County Sheriff's office received information that 19-year-old Latasha Lynn Duvall of Flora was wanted on a Carroll Superior Court arrest warrant, charged her with violating her probation. Deputy Grant Davidson located Duvall just outside the courthouse and took her into custody. Simultaneously, K-9 Deputy Mike Thomas, Delphi Officer Justin Wilson and the Carroll County Drug Task Force located 32-year-old Billy Francis Williams of Flora walking away from a 1989 Chevrolet truck, parked less than a block from the courthouse. Police learned there was also an arrest warrant for Williams for a probation violation. Through dialogue shared with the two detainees and property found in the truck, the sheriff's department and Delphi police learned that Duvall had driven the truck to her probation appointment with Williams as a passenger. Upon further investigation, authorities learned the truck Duvall drove to Delphi was reported as stolen to the Clinton County sheriff's office Jan. 10. Duvall and Williams were transported to the Carroll County Jail. As police were impounding the truck, they located what appeared to be articles related to the production of meth. The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab was notified and responded and the vehicle was deemed an active mobile meth lab. Duvall and Williams were incarcerated without bond on revocation of probation arrest warrants. The sheriff's office and drug task force will continue to investigate the meth lab. Additional criminal charges against Duvall and Williams are pending with the office of the Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney. |
