ISP Lafayette releases December statistics

Indiana State Police at the Lafayette Post have released statistics for December. Troopers issued 1030 traffic citations and wrote 353 traffic warnings. Troopers also arrested 24 drunk drivers and made 52 criminal arrests.

They also issued 203 truck citations; 353 traffic warnings, 37 commercial motor vehicle inspections; 41 vehicle crashes investigated; 15 crash arrests; and 107 police services;

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division, working from the Lafayette Post, worked 10 new cases and assisted the troopers in total criminal arrests.

ISP reminds motorists that when roads are snow packed and icy, follow a few simple rules. + Leave plenty of room between you and the car in front. + Check wiper blades and have plenty of windshield washer fluid. + Have battery and antifreeze checked for winter driving. + Have warm clothing and food in the car in case of a breakdown. + Don't hurry, give yourself plenty of time to arrive at your destination.
