Classy Classics EH

Classy Classics Extension Homemakers had their January meeting at the home of Diana Alter with 12 members and one guest, Terry Moore, attending.

Al Jackson, chairman of the Carroll County Community Foundation, was the guest speaker. He explained the history, purpose, and goals of the Foundation, and creative ways to leave a legacy to the community.

Members brought canned goods and Valentines to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House this month.

Diana Alter gave devotions concerning one of God's most fragile creations - snowflakes.

Snack food for the Burlington Community Club meeting on Feb. 7 was decided upon, and members volunteered to furnish the items.

Cheer plates will be assembled at the February meeting (Feb. 12) in Elgie Avery's home and distributed thereafter. Members are also reminded to bring pillows and cases to the Feb. meeting for various shelters.

A special interest program was mentioned by president Pat Rodgers entitled "Quilt Tales" by Jimpsie Doyel of Camden. It will be Monday, Feb. 19, starting at 10 a.m. in the 4-H Building, Flora, following registration.

The attendance prize winner was Jeanette Crum.

Wednesday Forum

Members of Wednesday Forum met at the home of Alice Christian for their January meeting. Mary Ellen Campbell presented a lesson on the impact of crows and ravens on human culture and their honored standing in literature and myth.

Jerry Landis will be president for 2007 and the next meeting will be at her home.
