Lessons from the Heart
What's in store for this year?
By Pastor Ken Smith

Often at the turn of the year we look backward and we look forward. We sometimes wonder if this year will be better than the last. Many factors that make that determination we cannot control, however, there are many that we can.

The Bible says in Galatians 6:7, "A man (or woman) reaps what he sows". Proverbs 11:25 states, "he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." What we sow will help determine what is in store for this year. I encourage you to develop the habit of sowing things that refresh. Look for people that you can encourage by your actions and your words. Say things that build people up and not tear them down.

We remember what momma taught: "If you can't say anything good about someone, don't say anything at all." Take it a step further and find something good to say about everyone.

I don't know about you but I need all the refreshing I can get.

The truth of the gospel is that I therefore need to sow all the refreshing that I can. I pray that today God will send you to someone to refresh and in turn someone will be sent to you.

"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer". (Psalm 19:14)
