Chester L. Brovont Chester L. Brovont, 86, passed away Jan. 5, 2007, at 1:23 p.m. at Chase Manor in Logansport. He had been a resident there for one year and at Milner Community Healthcare Center in Rossville the year prior. He lived in Camden for many years and for some time in Flora before being admitted to the healthcare facilities. Born June 21, 1920, in Carroll County, he was the son of John and Addie Replogle Brovont. He graduated from Camden High School in 1938. His first marriage was to Lavaun Meador on Oct. 19, 1941, and she preceded him in death on April 9, 1990. He married Rosa Hufford Yoder on Aug. 17, 1991, in New Paris, and she survives. Mr. Brovont farmed in Carroll County and worked at the former Custom Allied Products for over 20 years. He was a member of the Bachelor Run Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Flora. Surviving are three daughters, Linda Geiser (husband: Duane) of New Paris, Brenda Adams (husband: Charles) and Nancy Oyler (husband: Everett), all of Goshen; five stepchildren, John Yoder (wife: Dorothy) of Hillsville, Va., Dean Yoder (wife: Jane) of Pleasant Hill, Ohio, Tom Yoder (wife: Melissa) of New Paris, Joe Yoder (wife: Sylvia) of Eldorado, Ohio, and Phyllis Brovont (husband: Floyd) of Goshen; six grandchildren, 15 stepgrandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, 33 stepgreatgrandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A brother, one grandson, Scott, and a sister-in-law, Ruth, preceded him in death. Services were held Tuesday at Bachelor Run Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Home brethren officiated. Burial was at Musselman Cemetery near Camden. Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, was in charge of arrangements. |
