EMBARQ and Comet team up to honor youth volunteers

EMBARQ and the Carroll County Comet have joined together to initiate a special program that will recognize young leaders. "Indiana Leaders of Tomorrow" will honor youth in grades 9-12 for their leadership through community volunteerism, academic success and extracurricular activities.

Those nominated will be featured in a special section of the Carroll County Comet. Twelve finalists from around the state and the schools they attend will each receive a $500 cash award. The winner will receive a $2,500 cash award and his or her high school will receive a $2,500 donation from EMBARQ.

"Many students throughout the state of Indiana have been recognized for their volunteerism through the Leaders of Tomorrow program," said Jim Wagner, EMBARQ public affairs manager. "EMBARQ is pleased to partner once again with the Carroll County Comet to honor area youth and their leadership roles."

Nomination forms are available via the Internet at www.leadersot.com or at either Carroll County Comet office, 14 East Main Street in Flora or 114 E. Franklin Street in Delphi.

The deadline for receiving nominations is Feb. 16.
