County's Operation Pull Over patrol deemed successful

Carroll County Traffic Safety Partnership recently participated in Operation Pull Over, held in conjunction with The Governor's Council on Impaired & Dangerous Driving and the Traffic Safety division of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

Carroll County officers were awarded a grant to pay for extra patrols to enforce seatbelt usage and impaired driving during the blitz.

"Fifty-three hours of extra patrol were very successful," said Operation Pullover Coordinator Deputy Tony Liggett.

A total of 47 seatbelt citations, four operating while intoxicated arrests, and one possession of marijuana arrest was made. In all, 81 total citations and 64 warnings were issued during the extra patrols over the Thanksgiving holiday travel season.
