Budget adjustments made by Delphi
By Debbie Lowe

End-of-the-year budget adjustments were the only items on the agenda for a special Delphi City Council meeting held Dec. 27.

Ordinance 2006-8 was approved unanimously by suspending adoption rules and approving all three readings.

Delphi City Mayor Lee Hoard said the city will have a $2.1 to $3 million dollar surplus at the end of 2006. He said there has been steady increase in that amount since the 2003 flood.

The parks department received unanimous approval to encumber $15,360. Hoard reported some of that amount will be used to build a skateboard park in the Riley Annex.

The next council meeting will be Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. Board of Works will meet at 6:30 p.m. that evening.
