Library Delphi Public Drawing Studio resumes Jan. 9. Spots are available for anyone looking to hone their drawing skills. Designed for ages 12 and up, the class meets Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Call the library to register. i-Film series 2007 continues Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. with the Iranian film, “Men at Work.” Discussion and refreshments will follow. In Stitches Fiber Arts Circle will meet Jan. 22 on the 3rd floor mezzanine to knit, quilt and spin. Anyone interested in joining the fun and fellowship should plan to arrive at 6:30 p.m. Bring supplies for a project or on-going work and a snack to share with the group. All those who crochet, quilt, knit, felt, spin or even macramé are invited to come and create. Flora-Monroe Township It’s the New Year, time to make new life goals. Let 2007 be the year you finally achieve your GED (General Educational Development.) GED Tests measure the outcome of a high school education. The White County Learning Lab is offering classes in basic skills, GED preparation, math and comprehension improvement for employment, and preparation for the U.S. Citizenship Exam. Each student will create his own learning plan according to his needs with the assistance of a licensed teacher. Study oneon one or participate in group sessions. Participants must be 16 years or older and not enrolled in high school. Books and instruction are provided. Free GED practice tests are also provided for enrolled students. The free classes are at 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the library’s Richter Room. For more information on the program call 219-253-6100, or email WCLL@nwhite.k12.lin.us. Vote for your favorite book of the past year. Voting forms are available at the main desk; all ages are invited to vote. Votes can also be sent by email. In the subject heading write 2006.
