Honoring decades of helpfulness

Lions Club members believe five decades of service to one's community is worthy of recognition. The club ensures such an achievement does not go unnoticed when one of their own reaches the milestone. Delphi Lions Club member Russ Smith was presented a 50-year Monarch Milestone Chevron Award during the local service organization's annual Christmas party Dec. 19. The award recognizes 50 years of humanitarian service to the community. A letter from Lions Club International President Mahendra Amarasuriya offering thanks and congratulations to Smith was read. Smith is a 40-year perfect attendance award winner. "I have missed few meetings in my 50 years," he said. Pictured, left to right, are Delphi Lions president Darrel Noonkester presenting the chevron to Smith.
