Dean E. Maxwell, 78, of Lafayette, passed away Nov. 9, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

He was born Feb. 4, 1929, the son of Raymond and Faith Maxwell. He had lived in Stockwell before moving into the county in 1955.

Mr. Maxwell worked in the development laboratory and on the factory floor at Ross Gear TRW for 37 years, retiring in 1991.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during World War II. He was a past member of Delphi American Legion.

Mr. Maxwell enjoyed bowling and softball through Ross Gear and fishing in Wisconsin.

Surviving are two sons, Jeff Maxwell (wife: Tammy) of Frankfort and Michael Maxwell; a sister, Agnes Schuler (husband: Jim) of Gulfport, Miss.; five grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Jessica, Christopher and Rebecca Maxwell; and a great-grandchild.

Mr. Maxwell was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Fred, Bob and Dick Maxwell, and a sister, Patti Mohler.

Services are today, Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at Hippensteel Funeral Home, Lafayette. Pastors Jeff Johns and Johnnie Beard will officiate. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
