Clinton Prairie came into Friday night's game with Delphi with a 4-0 record and a No.10 ranking in the latest polls. While some may say the Oracles' 22-18 win was an upset, others would say it wasn't a surprise at all. More ... Carroll varsity soccer team had a rough week. Beginning last Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Cougars paid a visit to Lafayette Faith Baptist. On a windy day, the Cougars gave up 2 early goals and were never able to overcome the deficit. Michael Myer gave the Cougars 2 goals in the second half, but the Cougars lost 4-2. More ... Carroll junior Megan Garrison won the Lafayette Jeff Girls Golf Sectional on Saturday with a 5 over par 80. Her closest competitor was at 84. For the third year in a row, she advances to the Lafayette regional to be played at the Lafayette Municipal Golf Course. More ... The Carroll High School cross country teams fared well at the nine-team Carroll Invitational held last week. The boys finished second to Western. The girls won their race by outlasting Western and Winamac. Pacing the girls were the individual champion, Ashley Bordner, followed by Lauren Wilkinson and Abby Reinke (6th and 7th respectively). More ... Oracle JV buries Gophers The Delphi JV football team defeated Clinton Prairie last week 22-18. Tanner Cripe led the Oracles on offense with two touchdown runs. One came on a 65-yard scamper and a 35-yard run from scrimmage. The other score came from Cory Smith on a two-yard run. More ... Carroll marching band is back! The band, under the direction of Don Pettit, gave its first performance on the field Friday night at C a r r o l l 'homecoming game. The 29- member band and color guard presented "The Sound of Magic" during halftime. More ... The Oracle 7th grade recorded a 12-0 victory over the Tecumseh Braves last Thursday. Cody Miller scored on a 45-yard scramble. Kaleb Salyer delivered the final blow after breaking several tackles on a 30-yard touchdown run. Defensively, the Oracles shut down the Braves' offense on a total team effort. More ...
