Martin and Bush are 4-H State winners

During the State Fair, 40 4-H'ers were selected for a fourday Achievement Trip to Washington, D.C. Travis Martin (pictured) of the Carrollton Clovers 4-H Club, was chosen for the trip based on his "How to Tie a Tie" demonstration in the State Fair Demonstration Contest. The trip, sponsored by the Indiana State Fair Board, will be Oct. 17-21. The 4- H'ers will stay at the National 4-H Center. They will have the opportunity to tour the U.S. Capitol, Iwo Jima, Mount Vernon, Smithsonian Institute & Museums, and a dinner theater.
Champion Angus Steer Jacob Bush of Flora showed the Champion Angus Steer at the Indiana State Fair. The son of Randy and Julie Bush, Jacob is a fourth-year 4-H member. His home-raised steer previously had been awarded Champion Angus at the Hoosier Beef Congress and at the Carroll County 4-H Fair.
