Rossville announces school opening
      First day of school for students in the Rossville Consolidated School District will be Aug. 15 from 8:05 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. A staff orientation/teacher workday will be held Aug. 14 at 8 a.m. Student registration will be Aug. 8, 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., and Aug. 10, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.

First grade teacher retires from Carroll

      After 31 years as a first grade teacher, Ann Sheagley has announced her retirement. Her whole teaching career was with the Carroll School Corporation. She first taught at Burlington until that building closed, and then at the old Flora school until the new Carroll Elementary was built.

      Delphi Community Elementary School will host a back-toschool bash and meet-the-teacher night in the school's back parking lot Aug. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. All DCES students and their families are encouraged to attend. The community party is meant to "kickoff" the school year in traditional tailgating fashion.
