School days are here again
Classes will begin the second full week of August for students in the Carroll Consolidated, Delphi Community and Twin Lakes school corporations. The first day for Carroll students will be Aug. 14 and the first day for Delphi and Twin Lakes students, Aug. 15. Registration information, school calendars and other information follows. Rossville's information will appear next week.
Carroll
The first day of classes for students in the Carroll Consolidated School Corporation will be Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Student registration will be Aug. 8, 9, and 10. Registration hours will be noon to 6 p.m. on Aug. 8 and 10, and 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. on Aug. 9.
Junior and senior high school book rental is based on the student's individual schedule.
Elementary book rental fees are: Kindergarten, $61.40; first grade, $84.30; second grade, $77.46; third grade, $106.66; fourth grade, $90.42; fifth grade, $90.67; and sixth grade, $96.13.
Parents and/or students need to have the following information available during registration: Emergency phone numbers, Social Security numbers, new immunization information, and new medical emergency information.
Parents of kindergartners need to take that child's birth certificate and immunization records if the child did not attend spring kindergarten round up.
Lunch and breakfast fees will be the same as last year. The lunch fee for students is $1.45 daily at the elementary and $1.55 daily at the juniorsenior high school. Elementary breakfast fee is 85 cents per day.

FIRST GRADE - 2 pkgs. # 2 pencils, 2 large boxes Kleenex, 2 boxes of 16 count Crayola Crayons, 2 large erasers, 2 4- oz. bottles of Elmer's School Glue, 4 pocket folders, 1 paint shirt, 1 pair gym shoes, 1 small plastic school box, 1 box Ziploc sandwich baggies. No Trapper Keepers. Due to limited space, we prefer that first graders do not use rolling backpacks.

Delphi Community
The first day of classes for students in the Delphi Community School Corporation will be Wednesday, Aug. 15.
Registration
Registration dates and times for all schools are Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Aug. 7 from noon to 8 p.m.
Freshman and new student orientation will be Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. in the middle school cafetorium. Schedules and locker assignments may be picked up prior to or immediately following orientation. Students will have the opportunity to tour the building at this time. Parents are invited to attend.
Book rental
Book rental fees are as follows:

Used textbooks available
The following was copied directly from the school newsletter: The board of school trustees, upon determination that a certain textbook will no longer be used in the school corporation, may make available to any parent of a child who is enrolled in the school corporation and who wishes to receive a copy of the textbook, one copy of the textbook at no cost to the parent, subject to availability of the textbook. If any textbooks are available after distribution to all parents requesting such textbook, any resident of the school corporation who wishes to receive a copy of the textbook, will receive one copy of the textbook at no cost to the resident.
School meals
Elementary and middle school breakfast will be $1.00 per day ($5.00 per week). Elementary lunch will be $1.50 per day ($7.50 per week). Extra milk will be 30 cents per day ($1.50 per week). Middle school and high school lunches will be $1.75 per day ($8.75 per week).
School hours for the elementary school will be 8:05 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. Early Childhood Center hours will be 8:05 a.m. to 11 a.m. Special education pre-school hours will be 8:05 a.m. to 11 a.m. Middle school and high school hours will be 8 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.

Twin Lakes
The 2007-2008 school year for the Twin Lakes School Corporation will begin on Aug. 15.
Registration for students in grades kindergarten through eight will be Aug. 7, 8 and 9. Students in grades 9-12 may pick up their schedules on those days.
High school students new to the TL corporation (move-ins) must contact the guidance office (574-583-7108) for an appointment to register for classes.
