Delphi Library Friends
Teenagers laughed, danced and had a good time at the library Friday night as they participated in Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero. The Play Station games were purchased by the Friends of the Delphi Library and hosted by Marcia Sledd and the library's teen advisory board.
The object of Dance Dance Revolution is to match arrows and timing of the music while dancing on a pad. Guitar Hero lets youth play music along with computer images like a rock star.
Tee shirts were provided for all youth participants. Funds for the program were generated from the twice-yearly library book sales and private donations.
The fall book sale will be Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with member preview Aug. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Flora-Monroe Township
Our summer reading program, "It's All About the Circus!" has closed its tents for the season. We've had a great summer with almost 400 people participating in the reading extravaganza. Flora Library hosted lots of great programs including the kickoff at Carroll Elementary with Silly Safaris and Jungle John.
We experienced Stevens Puppets famous marionettes, the library got "noisy" with Charlie "the Noise Guy" Williams, and the program room became an art studio the month of June with our free art classes. Summer reading ended with an exciting book release party of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," by J. K. Rowling.
Lots of people in the community have helped make our program so fantastic. The programs were sponsored with a generous donation from the Beta Alpha Chapter of Psi Iota Xi, Flora, with additional support provided by the Flora Lions Club.
The free art classes were made possible with grants provided by the Tippecanoe Arts Federation and the Carroll County Community Foundation. Delphi Dairy Queen and Indiana Beach provided additional prizes. A big thank you to all of our incredible sponsors!
The Saturday Morning Book Club meets this Saturday at 10 a.m. to discuss the 2007 Carroll County on the Same Page selection, "The Glass Castle," by Jeannette Walls.
Children can hear stories 24 hours a day on the library's Dial-A-Story phone line, 967- 3814.
