Duke Energy offers customers incentives to reduce AC use
      During the long, hot summer months, electricity consumption increases as customers use more power to keep their homes cool. Duke Energy's Power Manager Program pays residential customers to reduce their air conditioning use without sacrificing comfort during times of high demand for electricity.

Celebrations to mark World Breastfeeding Week
      The White and Carroll County WIC programs are sponsoring a celebration in recognition of World Breastfeeding Week.       The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is reminding motorists that breaking the law in Indiana's highway work zones will result in stiff fines and possible jail time. Relay for Life
Light the way to a cure
      Carroll County's 6th annual Relay for Life, which raises funds for the American Cancer Society, will be July 27 and 28 on the Carroll High School track. It will start at 6 p.m. on Friday and conclude at noon on Saturday. Teams and individuals will be walking on the track during that time.

Flora man charged with child molestation and exploitation
No public defender appointed
      Phillip L. Stringer II, 30, of Flora was arrested July 4 on several counts of child molestation and child exploitation. He appeared in Carroll Circuit Court July 5 for an initial hearing and was formally charged with eight Class A felony counts, child molestation and one count of child exploitation, a Class C felony.
