Sexton family

The Sexton reunion was held June 30 at Kate Hunt's farm, Galveston, with 77 people attending.

Five of the Sexton children and families were there: Kathy Sexton Gaddy (husband: Jim) of Truxton, Mo., Roger Sexton of Kokomo, Bud Sexton of Forest, Cecelia Sexton Francis (husband: John) of Galveston, and GeeKnee Sexton Rioux (husband: Georges) of Flora. Bill Sexton of Norfolk, Va., and Ellen Sexton Mosmann of Jonesboro, Ark., were unable to attend.

Kate Hunt is their foster mother and mentor. She is a retired school teacher from Galveston and Lewis Cass schools.

They met cousins from Ridgeville, Ind., and Rossburg, Ohio, for the first time. Many other cousins attended from Tennessee, Missouri, and Illinois. Two aunts came from Carmel and Indianapolis.

Other families represented were: Hargrove, Hicks, Jones, Suarz, Blunk, Hoover, Smith, Nunn, Bates, Harris, Davis, Ezell, Dowden, Kelm, Cossell, Weidner, Hensley, and Ashenfelter. Guests were Ling, Aldridge, and Mullens.

The next day, 25 people met in Kokomo for a farewell breakfast.

It was decided to meet the same time and place next year.
