"Pioneer Days, Journey on a Wagon Train" is the theme for this year's summer reading program at the Camden-Jackson Township Public Library. Registration is May 29 through June 2 with the program starting on June 6. There are events and activities for children kindergarten age through eighth grade.
Community Vacation Bible School will be held June 4-8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
The American Legion will have Memorial Day services at Camden Cemetery on Monday. A carry-in dinner will be held afterwards at approximately 2 p.m. in the Legion Home. All Legionnaires, their spouses and families are invited to attend. Those attending should take a well-filled basket.
Camden Elementary teachers will be moving their classrooms to Hillcrest on May 31.
Camden Youth Day Parade will be June 2, starting at 10 a.m.
The town will celebrate its 175th anniversary on July 21-22. A committee meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church. Two full days of activities are being planned. Anyone who would like to help with expenses may leave their donation at the town office.
