Readers rewarded at Carroll Elementary
Moonwalk Flora Rotary donated its Moonwalk for the Carroll Elementary School Book-It reading celebration. Comet photo by Jennifer Archibald Carroll Elementary students participated in the Pizza Hut Book-It program again this year.
Book-It is a six-month program where the classroom teacher sets a goal for each student. Once a student reaches that goal, he or she is rewarded with a Pizza Hut certificate that is redeemable for a free Personal Pan Pizza.
Students who have read for all six months are considered All-Star Readers. This year 419 students were All-Stars.
Because of the great participation (grades K-6) the PTO's Read Cougar Read committee decided to reward these All-Star Readers.
Last Wednesday, the All-Star Readers each received a button and a water bottle. They were also invited to participate in a celebration that included snow cones, carnival games, and a moonwalk. PTO funded these rewards, and the Flora Rotary Club donated the use of its moonwalk.
