Gish's team wins state title
      Howard County's Northwestern Tigers won the IHSAA Class 2A Boys Basketball Championship Saturday with a 78-74 double overtime victory over Winchester. The Tigers are coached by Carroll graduate and Deer Creek resident Jim Gish. This was the school's first state championship and a special victory celebration welcomed the team Saturday night at the school.

YMCA volleyball winner
      Last Thursday night was the final game in the Carroll County YMCA Coed Volleyball League. Brenneco Fire Protection defeated The Team (15-8) and (15-13). Members of the winning team were: Samantha Garrison, Mike Kingery, Angie Kingery, Kyle Deaton, Zane Peters, and Rusty Ashby.
