Burlington Burlington Town Council will have a special meeting Friday at 9 a.m. in the town hall to take care of year-end business. A New Year’s Eve Party will follow morning worship on Sunday at the United Methodist Church. There will be no Sunday School. Donut Sunday will be observed Jan. 31 at Crossroads Community Christian Church. Bible Study at Crossroads Community Christian Church is held on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. A board meeting will follow the Jan. 3 Bible Study. A New Year’s Eve party for youth in grades 6 to 12 will be held at Faith Church of Christ. A New Year’s Eve party and potato bake will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Brethren Church. Burlington Township E.H. Associate Club met recently with seven members attending. Devotions were given by the hostess, Cheryl Milburn. The birthday and anniversary songs honored Mary Williams. Rosemary Sutton whistled Christmas songs and members joined in singing. The next meeting will be held in March. Sharon Bray hosted a Christmas party on Dec. 18 for the United Methodist Women. Supper was served to 19 guests. Sally Duke sang several Christmas songs and then everyone joined in to sing. Barbara McGill conducted a memorial service honoring Martha Kirkendall and Leona Carter. Larry Waddell and Gene Bray served dessert. The committee included Janice Waddell, Mary Anna Scott and Sharon Bray. The next meeting will be in March. The family of Lloyd and Mary Williams hosted a party for them in Kokomo on Dec. 16. The occasion marked Mary’s birthday and the couple’s 61st wedding anniversary. Several family members and friends attended. Kiwanis Club will meet at 7:30 a.m. Saturday for breakfast and meeting at the Burlington Fire Station. The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Burlington on Jan. 9 at the Community Park Building from 1 to 6 p.m. The drive is being sponsored by Kiwanis Club.
