Camden leads the charge to save TDS office The TDS business office in Camden is slated to close Jan. 29 and Camden town leaders are not happy about it. TDS serves Camden, Deer Creek, Rockfield, Clymers, Wheeling, Lockport and the surrounding rural areas. A petition drive was initiated to voice disapproval of the decision. Signatures will be collected until mid-January. The town and other petitioners want the corporate office to understand the local TDS business office and the services offered are important to the community. Many citizens use the office to pay bills, arrange for service in the rural area, and gather valuable information about the TDS service. Petitions can be signed at the Camden Town Office, Camden Grocery and Meat, and Betty’s Stop and Shop in Deer Creek. Petitions have been sent to Liberty Township Trustee Jim Tribbitt, Liberty Township Fire Department and Grace Deel in Rockfield. Approximately 200 signatures have been gathered to protest the action. Others interested in supporting the movement are encouraged to write directly to David Wittwer, President’s Office, TDS Telecom- Junction Rd., 525 Junction Rd., Madison, Wis., 53717. For additional information and questions, call Camden Town Clerk Pat Casserly at (574) 686- 2121. |
