TDS Camden office closing to walk-ins

Beginning Jan. 29, 2007, TDS Telecom’s Camden business office, located at 210 W. Main Street, will close to walk-in customer traffic.

John Sango, vice president of customer operations for TDS, stated that the company has been analyzing its operational structure over the past year to adjust to the changing needs of its customers and to look for more cost effective service solutions.

“Customers are visiting our offices less and calling us more during times that are convenient for them, such as after 6 p.m. or on Saturdays,” Sango said. “It has been our goal to bring technology to rural communities and we continue with that focus.”

He said customers who use the local Camden office will need to make new arrangements and are encouraged to visit the office now to discuss their payment options.

He added that technical response team members will remain in the community for all installation and repair needs. Local customer service advisors have been given the option to work in a nearby TDS location and assist customers over the phone.

Customers will be mailed detailed information in their next monthly statement. TDS advisors can be reached 24/7 to assist customers by calling toll free 1-888- CALL-TDS.

“TDS is committed to growing with this community and meeting the needs of our customers with exceptional products and services,” Sango stated. “This change is part of a continued refinement to our business as we move forward in a highly competitive industry.”
