Delphi swimmers off to a good start

Delphi Community High School's girls' swim team has started the season with an impressive 3-1 record. The team is very young with only one returning senior.

They suffered their only loss to an always-competitive Lewis Cass squad. Delphi struggled to tally big points by not being able to post wins in a significant number of events. They did show promise by winning some hard fought second and third places.

That promise came to life against Maconaquah. This meet was close throughout with the final outcome to be determined by the placings of the final event. Those younger members pulled in a victory by getting enough points behind Delphi's winning relay team to assure a win. The girls used that win as a springboard to overpower South Newton the following week.

The girls had a hard fought win against Central Catholic. The win against CC was the first time in memory a Delphi girls' swim team has out swam the Knights. The young Oracles again struggled to win events but pulled through with good performances in the outside lanes.

The Oracle boys' swim team started their season with a dual meet at South Newton. The boys' team, with three seniors, has more experience than the girls' team. They showed their dominance at the South Newton meet where they captured their first win of the season.
