A tree gave up the battle to stand as winds blew furiously in Delphi on Friday. The home of Clayton and Uva Coffman, at the corner of E. Main and E. Rinehart streets, fell victim to the tree's demise at about 9 a.m. The damage was expected to be limited to the attic, according to family member and owner, Jim Cooper. Uva was in the house by herself and Clayton was just getting into his van parked on the south side of the house when the tree fell. Neither resident was hurt. Comet photo by Debbie Lowe
