Camden Camden-Jackson Township Public Library Christmas Appreciation get-together will be held Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Fireman's Lounge. Camden American Legion Auxiliary will have its annual Christmas party on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Legion Home. Hostesses will be Sue Wertz and Cindy Chapman. Volunteer firemen will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the Fireman's Lounge. Camden Lions Club's Family Christmas Party will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Fireman's Lounge. A carry-in meal will be served. Santa Claus will be a special guest. The Baptist Church Board of Christian Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday for a dinner meeting at the home of Janet George in Kokomo. Camden Masons will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Masonic Temple. Dorcas Missionary Society of the Baptist Church will have its annual candy wrap meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 in the church. Roll call response will be a Bible verse with the word "shepherd." Bible book of the month is Job. Hostesses will be Helen Yeager and Eva Lou Shanks. Camden Woman's Literary Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Hostesses will be Sharon Ashby and Judy Berkshire. A foot care clinic will be held the first Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. in the Senior Citizen's Lounge. The next clinic will be Dec. 7. There is still time to purchase raffle tickets for the quilt which will be given away at the December Town Council meeting. Proceeds will be used for the town's 175th anniversary celebration being planned for next summer. Thirty-one attended the Lions Club Thanksgiving supper and meeting. Special guests were Governor Al McConnaha and his wife and Peace Poster winners Keltie McLeland and her mother and Garrett Abbott and his family. Not present was Kaley Shaul. Thanksgiving weekend guests of Frank and Mary Whitfield were their son, Gene Whitfield, and family, Hali and Gene Jr., and friend, Cathy Dalton, all of Wentzville, Mo.; Bob and Mary Frances Stilson, John David and Karen Whitfield, and Frank Daniel, Shanell, Zackery and Chelsea Whitfield. |
