Carroll FFA members attend FIRE Conference

Six members of the Carroll FFA Chapter attended the Foundations In Reaching Excellence (FIRE) Conference at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center in Trafalgar Nov. 17- 19.

Attending were Lucia Zook, Malena Zook, Sarah Griffin, Travis Martin, Chandler Keown, and John Zook.

FFA members from across the state gathered to learn about the various opportunities available in the FFA. This conference, geared toward sophomore, junior, and senior FFA members, focused on objectives set by the Indiana FFA.

These objectives included: v Explore career possibilities and requirements in education, experience, and skills.

v Choose two character traits and enhance understanding.

v Identify mentors and accountability partners.

v Create a 10-year personal vision.

v Identify effective time management skills and management systems.

v Identify and learn how to use an emotional support system and mentor.

These objectives, taught by the Indiana FFA State Officer Team, are intended to acclimate students to new and broader horizons within the Indiana FFA Organization.

Also included in this conference were themes of patriotism, free and organized time, and an awards banquet for all attending FFA members.
