You can still join the holiday fun by coming to the Christmas Candy & Gingerbread Land Fun Time Dec. 2 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Children in grades 4-6 will be able to build a winter wonderland using cookies, candies, and icing. The magical land will be displayed over the holidays. Call and sign up soon.

Drawing Studio will meet on Dec. 5 and 12 before taking a break for the holidays. Classes resume Jan. 9. There are still a few openings for anyone age 10 and up who is looking to develop their drawing skills using pencil, pastels, pen and paint. The class meets on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Call to register and to get a list of supplies.

Evening Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. Dec.13 for a Christmas gathering. Guests will talk about great Christmas books, share Christmas stories and enjoy holiday treats. Anyone interested in joining the group is welcome to the event.

Book Club will meet at 9 a.m. Dec. 15 for the annual Christmas party. This is an opportunity for guests to discuss books they enjoyed over the past year. Guests are asked to bring a dessert to share and book recommendations.

Flora-Monroe Township

Take a break from the holiday bustle in the Book Nook Coffee Shop located on the main floor of the library by the front doors. A Hometown Holiday Open House will be Dec. 14, 15, and 16 during library hours in the Book Nook. Enjoy coffee, hot chocolate, hot-spiced cider, Tazo Tea and special treats with friends and family in a relaxed tranquil atmosphere.

Sights of the Season II, an art reception featuring students of Brenda Daly Reid, will be Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the library's Richter Program Room. The show will feature selected works from several art courses that were given at the library during this past year. Light refreshments will be served. The art exhibit will be on display through the holidays.

The Saturday morning book discussion group will meet Dec. 2. The group will take its annual Christmas celebration field trip to a well-known bookstore in Lafayette. New members are always welcome!

The theme of the next storytime is "Laugh Out Loud!" Caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays? Bring your child to preschool storytime where you can relax, laugh, read great stories and have fun! Join us for storytime on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.

Hear stories 24 hours a day on the library's Dial-a-Story phone line. Currently playing is the story of "The Coyote and the Bear." On Friday the new story will be "Why the Evergreen Trees Keep Their Leaves in Winter." Call Dial- A-Story at 967-3814.
