Pop tabs for Riley
Sixth graders in Andrea O'Brien's homeroom at Carroll Elementary are collecting pop tabs for Riley Children's Hospital. The tabs are sold for recycling, and the money benefits the Ronald Mc- Donald House. The whole school has joined the effort. Mrs. O'Brien's homeroom takes a new count every day, and the latest total is 135,714 tabs. Their goal is 175,000 by the end of the year. That total represents the number of children that Riley helps in a year. Flora Kiwanis will provide a prize for the student who brings in the most tabs. Students pictured above, l-r counterclockwise, are Kaitlin Ragan, Bayleigh Brumbaugh, Tanner Bradley, Gavin Hancock, Tyler Chapman. Photo provided
