Oracle wrestlers open season at Super Dual

Delphi High School wrestling team started off the 2006-07 season competing in the Chesterton Super Duals. The Oracles finished the day with a 2-3 record.

They lost to Chesterton in round 1, 51-23. In round two the McCutcheon squad beat the Oracles 39-36. Delphi picked up their first win against Munster 45-27. In round four, the Oracles took a beating by the team champions from Elkhart Memorial, 48-12. In the final round, the Oracles left on a good note, defeating Lowell 48-33.

Champions for the Oracles were: 119 lbs. - Don Alderman going 5-0 on the day. Shane Evans at 160 finished the day at 4-1 and was co-champion at his weight. Coy Pennington went 5- 0 on the day, but had a win at 189. Winning three matches on the day were 103 - Gabe Kane, 125 -MichaelAtwood, and 285 - Wes Everett. Two-time winners on the day were 112- Bob Floyd, 145- Cody Hayden, 152 - Braden Atwood, and 215 - Kurtis Hammond. Winning one match on the day was 135 - Cory Smith, and 189 - Kent Durbin.

The Oracles will be back on the mat Tuesday at Carroll at 6 p.m.
