Greg L. Maxwell

Greg L. Maxwell, 44, of Galveston, died Nov. 14 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo.

He was born Jan. 2, 1962, in Kokomo to Robert and Nancy (Bolen) Maxwell. He married Nancy A. Hood on Nov. 5, 2005, and she survives.

Mr. Maxwell was the assistant vice president in the mortgage department of First National Bank's downtown Kokomo branch for nine years.

He graduated from Lewis Cass High School in 1980 and attended Manchester College and Franklin College.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Galveston and the Walton Masonic Lodge.

He coached the Cass County Youth Football League Bears and Little League Town & Country Sox. He refereed football for many years and refereed the 1993 state championship game.

He was also a Lewis Cass Kings football fan and an avid Notre Dame fan.

Mr. Maxwell was a handyman and a member of the Galveston Commando Team.

He was a good husband and father.

Surviving are his children, Cole Maxwell, Grant Maxwell and Haley Maxwell, all of Galveston; his parents, Robert and Nancy Maxwell of Galveston; one brother, Michael Maxwell (wife: Amy) of Chandler, Ariz.; one sister, Tina Wells (husband: Ed) of Kokomo; his mother-in-law, Trudy Hood of Kokomo; brother-in-law and sister-inlaw Scott and Cynthia Hood of Carmel; nieces and nephews, Harrison Maxwell, Bianca Maxwell, Parris Maxwell, Madison Wells and Sydney Wells.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gerald Hood.

Services were held Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Galveston. Pastors Jon Tice and Jeremy Jones officiated. Burial was at the Musselman Cemetery near Camden.

Memorial contributions may be made to a college education fund for Maxwell's children. Envelopes are available at the church.
