Mary Louise DeWit

Mary Louise Vianco DeWit, 89, passed away Nov. 13 at 5:35 p.m. at her residence.

She was born in Delphi on April 27, 1917 to William and Margaret Becker Vianco.

She married her one and only love G.A. "Bert" DeWit on July 16, 1937 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi. He preceded her in death in May of 1988.

She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Peru, the Rosary and Alter Sedulity of Monticello and the Twin Lakes Senior Citizen of Monticello.

She also enjoyed watching the Prime Time Bowlers of Peru.

Survivors include: two children, Jerry DeWit (wife: Mary) of Houston, Texas and Judy DeWit Spohn (husband: Jimmy "Pinky") of Peru; two sisters, Rose Ann Vianco and Rita Gaunt, both of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren, James Hannington (wife: Letty) of Texas, Jerry DeWit Jr. (wife: Marie) of Kokomo, Michele Stewart (husband: Jamie) of Denver, Donald Warder of Peru, Edward DeWit (wife: Grace), Dawn DeWit and Elvis DeWit, all of Baltimore, Md., Shannon Bowers (husband: Jay) of McGrawsville, Ted Spohn (wife: Shelley) of Peru and Denise DeWit of Houston, Texas; 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, one sister and a brother.

Visitation will be Nov. 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Flowers- Leedy Funeral Home in Peru. Funeral services will be Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Peru, Reverend Francis I. Kilcline III officiating.

Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery in Delphi.
