Meetings Rock Creek Extension Homemakers Club met at Solomon's Grille for a luncheon meeting with Wiladean Snoeberger as hostess. Seven members and one guest, Marjorie Reynolds, attended. Devotions on "How You Spent Your Dash" were given by Wiladean Snoeberger. The birthdays of Hazel Mullin and Helen Benefiel and the anniversaries of Wiladean Snoeberger and Hazel Mullin were recognized. For the health and safety lesson, Marjorie Been told how to relax: Slow down, be positive, change thinking, and think good thoughts. The cultural arts lesson on Lewis and Clark, and Indiana as the starting point of the expedition, was given by Wiladean Snoeberger. The citizenship report was given by Hazel Mullin. October is Class Reunion Month and German Heritage Month. Helen Benefiel won the door prize. Delphi CWF The CWF of the Delphi Christian Church met Nov. 7 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. Pat Curts was hostess. Eleven members and one guest attended. Juanita Scott, a healthcare resident, was able to attend. There will be no church breakfast in November or December. Christmas decorating will be on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 9 a.m. Poinsettias need to be ordered by Dec. 4. Contact Jackie Paris or Sharon Quinn to order. The next meeting will be Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Nancy Cripe. It will be a carry-in dinner. Members will bring a cake mix for the food pantry instead of having a gift exchange. Following the meeting, the ladies filled treat bags for the residents for Thanksgiving. Double Dozen EH Double Dozen Extension Homemakers Club met Nov. 7 at the home of Barbara Dillon with seven members attending. President Wilma Robeson read the Thought of the Month and led in the flag salutes as well as the Song of the Month. Barbara Dillon gave the health and safety lesson, "Tips to Avoid Colds and Flu, and also displayed a teen pillow and explained how it was constructed. This is a new project. The lesson, "Matters of Life & Death - Talk Abut Advance Directives," was presented by Elizabeth Mylet. Members were asked to note the annual Christmas dinner and guest night on Dec. 5 at Faith Lutheran Church. Elizabeth Downham won the prize. The next regular meeting is Feb. 6 with Mary Ellen Johnson as hostess. Wednesday Forum Members of Wednesday Forum met at the home of Mary Ellen Campbell for their November meeting. Nick Clark, pastor of Burrows Presbyterian Church, lectured on the history of Native Americans who lived in this area. Clark is a former director of several museums, including Prophetstown. |
