CJSHS Drama Dept. to present 'Guys and Dolls

"Guys and Dolls" is the fall production being presented by the Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School Drama Dept. the weekend of Nov. 17-19.

All the hot gamblers are in town, and they're all depending on Nathan Detroit (Adam Bonner) to set up this week's incarnation of "The Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York." The only problem is, he needs $1,000 to get the place. Throw in Sarah Brown (Kaitlin Kennedy), who's short on sinners at the mission she runs and the coolest, highest roller of them all, Sky Masterson (Seth Pencek), who accepts Nathan's $1,000 bet that he can't get Sarah Brown to go with him to Havana. Miss Adelaide (Chelsea DeVos), the headliner at the Hot Box, is still trying to get Nathan to marry her after being engaged for 14 years and Police Lieutenant Brannigan (Sam Scharer), always seems to appear at the wrong time trying to catch Nathan in the act.

Based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon, book by Joe Swerling and Abe Burrows, and music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. Songs include "Fugue for Tinhorns," "Luck Be a Lady," Sit Down," and You're Rocking the Boat."

Guys and Dolls will be presented Nov. 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the CJSHS auditorium. Advance tickets may be purchased at the CJSHS Welcome Center.
