Carroll Elementary PTO READ COUGAR READ Committee is encouraging students to read each month for the national Book It reading incentive program, sponsored by Pizza Hut.
This year the committee has decided to award a student from each grade level with a new book. Participants who complete the monthly requirement have their name placed in a drawing.
Winners are: Emma Morris, kindergarten; Grace Filbrun, first grade; Meagan Volpi, second; Matthew Bradford, third; Courtney Pinkard, fourth; Derik Caldwell, fifth; and Brian
Bordner, sixth grade
NOELLE HEBER is concertmistress of the DePaul University Chamber Orchestra in Chicago for the Fall quarter. The concertmistress occupies the first seat of the first violin section and tunes the orchestra for the conductor. The Chamber Orchestra's next concert is Nov. 15 and 8 p.m.
Heber received a scholarship from DePaul to complete her Master's Degree in Violin Performance. She will graduate in May of 2008. She is also a teacher at Music House, Inc., a music school in Chicago, and teaches Suzuki group lessons and conducts their orchestra.
Heber graduated from Moody Bible Institute in May of 2005. She served as concertmistress of the Moody Symphonic Orchestra during her senior year. After graduating from Moody she spent a year in France teaching English at the high school in Neufchateau. She studied violin in France with Alexis Galperine of the Paris Conservatory and Alena Fricka, a Russian violinist.
She is the daughter of Al and Gloria Heber of rural Delphi.
ADAM CHRISTENSEN, 25, who obtained his undergraduate degree from Wabash College, attended law school in Bloomington and passed the bar exam. He is currently working for the law firm of Lewis and Cappes in Indianapolis.
ERIC CHRISTENSEN, 18, is attending Vincennes in preparation of his law career.
They are the sons of Chris and Cindy McCameron Christensen of Delphi.
