Library

Flora-Monroe Township

The library is open normal operating hours on Veterans Day, this Saturday.

A special thanks goes to the Carroll County Family YMCA who donated pumpkins to our "Pumpkin" storytime kids. The kids and parents loved their great pumpkins, just like Charlie Brown!

The Saturday morning book discussion group meets Saturday at 10 a.m. to discuss "Plain Truth" by Jodi Picoult. Highly acclaimed novelist Jodi Picoult explores the complex choices of the heart for a young Amish woman - and the compelling journey of discovery for an urban lawyer who befriends and protects her. New members are always welcome to join our animated book talks.

Since 1919, educators, librarians, booksellers, and families

have celebrated Children's Book Week during the week before Thanksgiving. The theme for this year's 87th annual observance is, "More Books, Please!" The observance encourages children, and the adults who care for them, to spread the joy of reading by spending some time with a book each day. Remember to take your kids to the library during Children's Book Week, Nov. 13- 19.

The theme of the next storytime is "Book Week." Storytime is Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.

Hear stories 24 hours a day on the library's Dial-a-Story phone line, 967-3814.

The Evening Book Club meets Nov. 29 to discuss "Small Change" by J. Belinda Yandell. This book is described as a little book with a great big heart that is especially fitting for the upcoming Christmas season.
