Scrabble Scrimmage for Literacy

First place team Thirty-nine people on 10 teams tested their word knowledge at the first Scrabble Scrimmage for Literacy held Nov. 2 at the Delphi Community High School Commons. Teams played three 20-minute rounds to create the most words and earn the most points per round for a cumulative point total at the end. First place team was the Great American Librarians. All proceeds raised will be used by Carroll County Advocates for Literacy, Inc. for the Adult Tutoring Program and Literacy Support Fund. The highest scoring word for the night, sequence, was created by Jeff Shuler, a member of the Delphi Kiwanis team.
